Present Moment Living

Happy February Yogi, During this month, that focuses on love, care and relationship - I want to be sure you turn cupids arrow around and direct it towards yourself. Over the last couple of months we’ve talked a lot about healing, growth and self acceptance. These are key features to a life worth living. They are also almost lost, pointless, useless if we do not focus on present moment living. I get it. It’s fricking hard. But isn’t it the destination we’re all trying to get to? Ironically, a destination we’re already living, experiencing? So many things steal us away from the present. Triggers from the past, worries about the future. Know that no matter how “perfect” you are at living presently, fully, you will, inevitably, be pulled away. Our mind's conditioned to think. Our nervous system’s conditioned to seek smells, sounds, sensations to decipher if they’re a danger or not. Our bodie's conditioned to feel. These are not “bad.” It’s how we’ve survived as a species. We’re also evolved enough to believe that beyond simply surviving… we also want to live. There are so many tips, tools and wellness activities we can do to bring our selves back to the present. Ways to pause, regroup, reset and remind ourselves to be here in the now. Trust me, I’ve tried them all. Some days some work, some days others will and some days nothing does. Because of unforeseeable circumstances, I’ve been in survival mode for a bit. This is a natural part of life’s ebb and flow. Now that I’m on the other side, it’s time to remember. It’s time to ground down in the present. It’s time to reassure myself that it’s a safe place to live… it’s time to just be, just breathe. And I feel like this may be something you need to be reminded of too, Nicole Starr. The world has been in survival mode for what feels like forever now. People are feeling angry, exhausted, depleted, burnt out. Let's remind ourselves what it's like to be in the present, to live in the present... to just live. Welcome to the present moment. Your breath is inviting you right here, right now. How are you going to rsvp? This will be our focus this month. To build our love, care and relationship with self in a daily way. Day by day Moment by moment Breath by breath Stillness, Awareness, Wellness, Nicole Starr Bacon
